Why Sports?

From this academic year we have embedded Physical Education as a part of our core curriculum. In our country not much important is given to sports or physical education at early stages of child development.  Early childhood marks a critical period in the life of a child and can set the foundation of healthy development and life-long learning

Throughout the life of a child, sport and play can be valuable tools to promote health and prevent disease, both through sport itself, and through the participatory act of watching others play, with the associated communication, education and social interaction that games can produce.

There are many benefits of playing sports for children. By participating in outdoor activities, children develop skills which are beneficial to them throughout their lives.

Some of the benefits are:

  • Reduces Stress, Anxiety and Depression
  • Developing Self-Esteem
  • Social Skills
  • Accept Defeat at Times
  • Maintain Discipline
  • There’s No I in Team
  • Helps children learn from failure
  • Increased Energy Level
  • Improves Cognitive Functioning
  • Teaches Emotional Control
